Obituary for Alethea L. "Lea" Hill

Alethea “Lea” L. Hill, 89, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2017. She was surrounded by family.
Lea was born March 6, 1927 in Rock Island, IL. She had a musical life, starting at age 3. With a beautiful singing voice, she was in many plays, light opera and performed with the Sweet Adelines for many years in Rock Island, IL, Greeley, CO and in Albuquerque, after she moved here in 1962.
Later, she and her husband Bill totally changed their lifestyles and became horse owners. They were actively involved in The Appaloosa Horse Club. Lea was also a graphologist and was a member of High Desert United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan; her son, David and his wife, Virginia; her grandchildren, Joshua and wife Nicole, Allison and Zachary and his wife, April; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, OJ and Annalea, as well as many friends and several nieces and nephews. Lea is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Tom and Anna Pech Schroeder; her sister, Charlotte, and her brother, Maurice.
She will be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on her 90th birthday: Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Humane New Mexico, www.animalhumanenm.org.
